Injazat Data Systems signs technology partnership with Al Taif Technical Services at IDEX 2009

Alliance to leverage Injazat’s IT and consultancy expertise to boost Al Taif’s MENA-leading maintenance, repair & overhaul capabilities

Injazat Data Systems, a leading Information Technology and Business Process Managed Services provider in the region, has signed a technology alliance with Al Taif Technical Services to augment Al Taif’s operational capabilities in the maintenance, repair and overhauling (MRO) of heavy utility vehicles and ground support equipment.

The partnership was highlighted during the 9th International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), the MENA region’s largest defence event that ran from February 22 to 26, 2009 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre. Both Al Taif and Injazat are part of Mubadala Development Company’s family of defence-related entities.

Injazat will provide business process and enterprise IT consultancy to enhance Al Taif’s ability to offer superior MRO services to the UAE Armed Forces, its biggest client. Al Taif maintains and repairs the national Armed Forces’ fleet of more than 20,000 vehicles, which range from tankers, transporters and buses to trucks, earth-moving equipment and 4x4 all-terrain vehicles.

Ibrahim Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems, said: “One of Mubadala’s key strategies is to promote partnerships which stimulate sustained growth and development. This approach is especially effective when we have members of our own group of companies involved. The alliance between Al Taif and Injazat will definitely lead to major business opportunities, as Al Taif will significantly benefit from Injazat’s solid experience and expertise in business process re-engineering and systems integration.”

Abu Dhabi-based Al Taif Technical Services was established in 2006 in collaboration with the General Head Quarters of the UAE Armed Forces by Mubadala, a wholly-owned investment firm of the Abu Dhabi Government. Al Taif relies on extensive Research and Development capabilities and more than 60 years of industry-leading experience to maintain its position as the top MRO services provider in the MENA region.

Injazat is also an Abu Dhabi-based company formed as a joint venture between Mubadala Development Co. and EDS, an HP company that founded the IT outsourcing industry more than 46 years ago. The IT company currently holds over 50 per cent of the UAE’s IT Managed Services market and will soon raise data centre service standards throughout the Middle East through the upcoming launch of its 6,600-sqm Tier IV data centre, the first facility of its kind outside of North America.

Mubadala creates synergies among the private and government sectors and military institutions to develop and provide advanced outsourced resources, training and services for the UAE and regional armed forces. The company helps improve military capabilities by enabling armed forces to focus on their core operations and has been instrumental in generating numerous defense-related jobs in the UAE. Mubadala is a staunch supporter of Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification programs and continues to explore key investments which ensure sustained economic growth for Abu Dhabi, the UAE and the entire Gulf.
