Salwa Smaoui is a proven digital tech leader who thrives on building and enhancing businesses, teams and nations.
Salwa joined Injazat in 2021 as the EVP, Digital Advisory, where as a senior C-Suite operator, she ensures Injazat continues to build its digital transformation strategy for its clients, ultimately playing a key role in enhancing the digital future of the UAE.
Salwa brings with her a wealth of experience from some of the world’s biggest and most reverend brands. She joined Microsoft in January 2006 as the Country Manager for Tunisia. For six years, she led the country to unprecedented growth through building and executing an impactful capacity building, community reach & citizenship plan.
She then moved to the Western Europe Windows & Surface Business Group Leader for 3 years. In her role Salwa was managing the +1bn$ Windows and Surface Business Group to promote the new workplace to empower employees in the 14 countries of Western Europe: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Portugal.
Most recently, she was the Government Industry leader at Microsoft Middle East and Africa leading the Digital transformation and the Smart City strategy for governments across the 79 countries. She also lead the AI country plans with the governments in South Africa, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Kenya.
Prior to Microsoft, Salwa spent the majority of her career in MEA in the ICT and Consumer business, including 11 years working for multinationals (Alcatel, Canal+) in upper management roles.
Salwa has a strong track record in negotiating and sealing significant business deals and developing and managing global strategic partnerships. She has also played a prominent role in establishing national and citizenship plans and building excellent government, private sectors C-level relationships in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
She has also become a prominent ambassador for empowering women in the workplace by leading the Middle East and Africa Women@Microsoft Initiative. Salwa is also passionate about Education in building smart nations and is a Member of the global board of Education For Employment (EFE) Foundation - www.efefoundation.org
